The CasinoCoin Foundation has been working hard to bring innovation to the regulated gambling sector; the beginning of 2018 was a whirlwind of activity that saw us accomplish the goals we set out for Q1.
First Quarter – Key Accomplishments
CasinoCoin is the gateway to the future of online gaming, and to demonstrate that we gave our brand and website a facelift to better reflect our values and innovative spirit. This included releasing a video that explains the value of CasinoCoin, how easy it is to use, and the benefits we can provide gaming operators, customers and regulators.
The upgrades, however, were not only skin deep, and also included a huge milestone for us – we completed a coin swap to move CasinoCoin to a new customised blockchain which was imperative if we are to meet our lofty long-term goals. Some of the changes that accompanied the new blockchain included an increase of the coin supply to 40 billion to better serve the needs of the global regulated gaming industry, and moving from a Proof of Work algorithm to Proof of Consensus, thus removing the reliance on mining to confirm transactions.
From the customer-facing tech side, we released the Android Mobile Wallet and it is currently available in the Google Play store; note the great reviews and please leave one yourself if you haven’t already! We also announced our partnership with Jumio who will provide the all important KYC element of the upcoming CasinoCoin Bankroll Manager app. Jumio is industry-leading when it comes to identity verification, and their client list includes Coinbase, 888, Betfair and many more. Needless to say, we’re in good company!
In addition to the great inroads we’ve made in the realm of marketing and development, we took CasinoCoin public for the first time at ICE Totally Gaming in London, this past February, where we partnered with the Isle of Man government, a preeminent gaming regulatory jurisdiction. CasinoCoin also established a new office in Malta, another premier online gaming jurisdiction. Perhaps most excitingly for the team, our customers and partners, was the announcement of our new Chief Commercial Officer, Ashish Tawakley, who brought with him a wealth of experience and knowledge of the online and live gaming sector, as well as increasing the size of our development team, with new members based in India and Latin America.
The heavy lifting wasn’t only accomplished by the CasinoCoin Foundation, but also the active and enthusiastic members of our community – creating marketing campaigns for brand awareness such as a partnership with NASCAR driver, Corey Lajoie, developing the CSC tipbot for Discord and Twitter, the paper wallet generator which has been integrated into the basic desktop wallet, baking CSC branded square bagels, and much more.
All this hard work paid off, as we were recently listed second in the Best Performing Cryptocurrencies of 2018.
Second Quarter – Key Focus
With our eyes on the prize, we look to the second quarter to deliver the highly anticipated CasinoCoin Bankroll Manager (CSC BRM) app, the cornerstone to the CasinoCoin product line. The CSC BRM will be the onboarding gateway for regulated gaming customers, enabling them to initiate lightning fast and inexpensive deposits and withdrawals to regulated gaming sites using CSC; while operators and regulators will benefit from the transparent nature of blockchain transactions, protect themselves from chargebacks and much more. We also expect the iOS mobile wallet to make its way into the Apple App Store this quarter, and the development team will be busy, launching the community relay node program and continuing tech trials with live operators.
John Caldwell, Director of Advocacy, a prominent figure in the gaming industry and champion of cryptocurrency, has been invited to speak at Juegos Miami. He will be on a panel addressing legalities around blockchain, including protecting the blockchain from anti-money laundering, understanding the KYC challenges associated with Distributed Ledger Technology, and which jurisdictions have legalised or awarded licenses to blockchain operators. Say hello if you’re there – panel details are: Friday, June 1st at 10:10am.
Our community will continue to be an integral part of the Foundation and CasinoCoin’s development. We recently announced the details of our community bounty, which will award rewards for contributions made to CasinoCoin. Finally, we will confirm the details of how to join the CasinoCoin Foundation membership program. Find out more about them in our new monthly community spotlight, published at the beginning of every month.
Duncan Cameron, CasinoCoin’s Technical Director, had this to say, “We hit every milestone on the Q1 product roadmap and grew the development team significantly to meet the demand of highly technical milestones in our roadmap for Q2. We’re happy with the progress but the best is yet to come.”
… Sometimes we have to remind ourselves this is a marathon, not a sprint!
