It’s that time of the month again – community spotlight time! This month we’re speaking to @Jasperlite to find out a bit about him, when and why he found CasinoCoin, and to talk us through how he has been involved so far. If you haven’t read the first few community posts, find them on our blog. You are also invited to join the lovely, lively and growing CasinoCoin Discord Community.
@Jasperlite, otherwise known as Mark Fillmore, lives in Southwest Florida (lucky him). Mark got into crypto back in 2011, and bought CasinoCoin early on – pre-coin Swap and before the Foundation was formed.
Here’s what @Jasperlite had to say during our chat.
How did you get into crypto, and what attracted you to CasinoCoin specifically?
I got in crypto thanks to a virus…! My boss had malware on his PC that was mining bitcoin (BTC). I was like “what the hell is Bitcoin?” and started to do my own research, and then started mining and trading BTC. That was sometime in 2011, and I worked my way up to a room full of miners, with the electricity bill to go with it. I survived the GAW / Paycoin Fiasco, Cryptsy, and a stolen BTC wallet (which was ironically due to a virus). I cashed out, what I thought at the time was everything I had, and bought an engagement ring with the BTC. I married @April (also on the CasinoCoin Discord…always making me tip her for cussing).
In October 2017, I needed surgery on my shoulder, after ‘Zeus’ the bull dragged me around the yard. I had a lot of time sitting around the house, extremely bored, so April suggested I get back into crypto as something to occupy me (basically so I would stop driving her crazy). I went back through all of my old wallets I could find and found my CasinoCoin wallet (then CXX) with 330 coins in it. I did the coin swap and the rest, as they say, is history.
What hobbies outside of work / crypto / family?
I’m an Operations Manager for a Medical Transcription Company. I am married to April with five children between the two of us, aged from 18 through to 26.
We have four dogs – Smokey, Oliver, Dixie and Daisy – I like to refer to Dixie and Daisy as my Double D’s and ask people “hey do you want to see a picture of my Double D’s”. Yes, I know that’s evil but it gets them every time. We have two horses – Thor and Hashi, and last (but not least) two bulls and two heifers, Zeus, Apollo, Athena and Starlight.
I have been into video games my entire life; it is amusing that I beta tested a lot of the games that are now considered Classic Icons in the gaming world. I have only mildly been into gambling; slot machines and occasional blackjack. I placed fourth (out of 60) in a poker tournament once, otherwise I’m a novice to gambling in general.
Currently my only interest outside of CSC is mining and selling other crypto so that I can acquire more CSC. I am “All In”.
How have you been involved in the CasinoCoin Community?
Besides my drive by sarcasm. Mostly by being positive about the project, and answering questions from new Discord members. The community inspired me to revive one of my pre-surgery hobbies, blade smith. So, I made a knife that was auctioned off to raise funds for a CSC promotion, and another one I used as a giveaway to entice more users to Discord.
What do you hope for the future of CasinoCoin, and what would you say to anyone interested in finding out more?
CasinoCoin is a catalyst that will revolutionise the crypto world. The strong Foundation and team, coupled with the real-world usability of the coin which solves a problem that actually exists. In addition to its real-world presence, in my opinion, are sorely missing from 90%+ of the crypto currencies on the market. CSC is a cryptocurrency that’s value will be based upon its actual use and not merely speculation and hype.
CSC is a tool that will be used within the Bankroll Manager app, with KYC and AML features, as well as safe, secure and fast transactions, that will provide a service that is sorely needed in the gambling industry today. For me, this makes it a bit of an enigma in crypto today. It is a concept that will hold up to the scrutiny of non-crypto investors and will cause a re-evaluation of what a crypto should be and how they are valued. I think we are a part of history being made in the next evolutionary leap in crypto and will be at the forefront of the crypto revolution.
