This month’s community spotlight we’re speaking to @oso to find out a bit more about him, why he loves CasinoCoin, and to hear about how he’s been involved in the community so far. Read back through previous months installments on our blog, and join the lovely, lively and growing CasinoCoin Discord Community.

Here’s what @oso had to say during our chat…
How did you get into crypto, and what attracted you to CasinoCoin specifically?
I got into crypto around March of last year (2017). At first it was a pretty basic level – not really looking into the technology or what it was about – just buying and selling BTC on Coinbase to try and make some extra money. Each month I grew more and more interested, and new clients were approaching us for their mining operations (at the data center where I work), so it was becoming clear to me crypto wasn’t going anywhere.
I finally decided to purchase some miners and that drove me to do a lot more research. I thought of industries that would most benefit from blockchain technology and gaming was at the top of my list. I started searching for those types of projects and stumbled across an article about John Caldwell joining the CasinoCoin team. That got my attention – so I went to the website and saw the rest of the names involved, and at that point it was a no brainer for me. This was around October 2017 and I pointed my miners to the old CXX chain. The project was dead at the time and a coin swap was announced in November 2017. It was the perfect storm. Everyone that had been mining previously had given up, been burned, and just wanted to swap their coins and let the new team do their thing. No one was on the old network and the swap lasted until Feb 14th 2018 (my birthday by the way). I was mining 1000 CXX a day on and off for a few months. In January, when this blog mentioned the ability for CSC to create custom coins for operators I went all in and started buying as well. I haven’t looked lately, but no other project seems more practical and/or serves a real world use case like CSC.
Do you have any interest in Crypto outside CSC?
For now CSC is it for me. I’m sure there will come a time when I start to diversify but there’s nothing at the moment I’d want to put my money and effort into, other than CSC. That’s not to say I don’t love the overall technology or that I don’t recognise how disruptive it will be across all industries. I think it is truly a game changer and I like that there is an opportunity for the little guy to get in early. As a whole, it’s going to be one hell of a ride and I’m going to enjoy every minute of it.
Do you have any interest in gaming / gambling outside CSC?
I’m a HUGE sports fan in general. I love college football and I’m a Florida State nut. I pay attention to lines and sports betting, but usually from the side lines. There was a time I’d put money in play but I found I wasn’t very good at it. Better for me just to watch! From an investment standpoint, though, it’s one of my favorite industries.
How have you been involved in the CasinoCoin Community?
I’ve tried to be an active community member; answering questions and helping where I can. It’s a little hard to manage people’s expectations because this project isn’t the norm in the crypto world. New members come into the project expecting all sorts of hype now with an eventual delivery of the promise down the line. But that’s not how this team works and that’s another thing that drew me to the project. Don’t get me wrong, they are clear about the goal and what they are trying to achieve, their vision, but they don’t hype anything until they happen. Until the ink is dry. When the time is right I hope to do more.
What do you hope for the future of CasinoCoin, and what would you say to anyone interested in finding out more?
I see so many inefficiencies in gaming that CSC can, and will solve. You have the problems it will solve for regulators, but also from an end user standpoint I see it increasing the user experience massively. I hope to see adoption across all platforms to ease the transition from one to another. I know online is the target first, but I think CSC will have a bigger impact on land based, just my opinion. I really can’t wait to see what the future holds for this coin.
