Q3 round-up
In July we announced that Lydia Barbara had joined our Board of Advisors. Lydia is Head of Innovation Strategy at Microgaming, a global supplier of award-winning online gaming software. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from the gaming sector.
September 2018 marked the CasinoCoin Foundation’s first birthday, and what a year it has been! For context, you can read back through our Q1 and Q2 updates from earlier in the year.
At the end of September, most of the team met in Malta for one of our quarterly team meetings. We all agreed that Q3 was very different to the busier start to the year. To some extent this was planned and much needed, but it was also partly due to the overall crypto market, and the way the regulated gaming industry operates. Integrating innovative new technology into a heavily regulated industry with many different jurisdictions simply takes time. We have all had to practice our patience muscle and use this time productively behind the scenes, to finish all important tech updates.
The Q4 2018 roadmap is now live on our website. The Q4 2018 and Q1 2019 (when released) milestones will give you a basic idea of how hard our tech team have been working. An enormous amount of time and effort goes into each product, with much of it invisible to the end user. Two notable releases in those quarters are the long-awaited CasinoCoin Bankroll Manager, and the Community Relay Node program. Both of these projects are unique to CasinoCoin and the building and testing has been a lengthy process, with a lot of trial and error, and very tightly controlled checks to ensure we can go live with the best version of these products.
On the commercial side, it has been business as usual, but (as we have said 1,000 times before!) we can’t share who we are working and negotiating with, we can and will only make announcements when the deals are ready to deploy. Ash, John and Luke have had many meetings with operators, suppliers and payment processors. As we have already mentioned, we have secured a tier 1 operator partner for the Malta Gaming Sandbox trial, and we are truly thrilled about this. We still cannot say ‘who’ until the timing is right for them. This is beyond our control, but as soon as we can share anything, we will.
Q4 – Focus
The 2019 roadmap will be released in weekly video installments over the next month. If you haven’t already, you can watch the Q4 2018 video below. Once all four videos have been released we’ll update the full roadmap onto the website. There will likely be amends and additions along the way, but this will give everyone a longer term view of the many plans we have for 2019.
The first part of Q4 also saw CSC listed on two new exchanges; STEX and NUEX, and the ever-popular Cfinex close its doors. We’re always working on ways to get CSC listed on more exchanges, and we’re confident once we have a working product out in the wild, it will greatly increase our chances of listings on larger ones.
The tech team will continue to work with our MGA sandbox trial partner to ensure the technology integration is tried and tested ahead of the start of the sandbox next year.
Both John and Ash have, and continue to, be busy attending many crypto and gaming industry events (G2E Vegas, Malta Blockchain Summit, DELTA Summit, SiGMA). Mostly to conduct one-to-one meetings and demos with operators, suppliers and payment processors. John also has a speaking engagement at the Malta Blockchain Summit in early November.
